St Peter’s Hall is a bright open space and is designed and structured around babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers. We offer children a wide selection of activities every day to ensure they make the best out of the space they have.
On the premises, there is a fully equipped kitchen where all meals are prepared. In the afternoon, children may sleep in a sleeping room with blackout windows.
We have one fully accessible toilet and 3 more for the older children. By the front door, we have a sheltered buggy park.
Forest school runs twice a week. A fully trained Forest School teacher member of the FSA leads Forest School. Sessions take place in the woodlands within Southfield park and children start attending from the age of 2.
Forest school at Ninna Nanna is going from strength to strength and is something that we feel very passionately about.
Forest school merges learning with outdoor play in a natural woodland environment.
When we get there, we introduce the children to their immediate surroundings. After that, we encourage everyone to explore, come close to plants, wildlife and its habitat. Above all, we have fun spending time outdoors. We also bring along toys and explorer kits to find treasure!
music and singing
Once a week the lovely Jasmine joins us at the nursery and we sing along with her. The 45 minute session covers different aspects of the music curriculum for the early years. Jasmine uses singing to explore dynamics (crescendo, diminuendo), different pitches (high and low) changes in rhythm (slow and fast) and she also introduces children to the basics of Solfege. During the lesson, children get to play a variety of age-appropriate and fun musical instruments. In addition, Jasmine also teaches songs so that children further improve their musical abilities.
